Mission Statement:
To sing a good song with a Great Message.
The Bible tells us, as Christians we are to identify the gifts God has given us and use them to glorify His name. God has given me a gift to sing and write songs that tell the good news of Jesus Christ and as long as the Lord allows it that is what I will do.
Hello, my name is Blake Reynolds.
I was is born and raised in Oklahoma and I have spent most of my life in the red
dirt, with an exception of a couple of years in Montana. I am married to a
wonderful woman named Deborah, the Lord really blessed me with a wonderful
wife. I am a graduate of Mid American Christian University where I obtained a
Bachelor Degree in Management and Ethics. Currently, I am blessed to lead the
music every Sunday morning at the Norman Cowboy Church and get the opportunity
to sing at other churches, church events and outreaches. The Lord has blessed me in my
life, giving me the ability to make a living and to be able to sing songs of His glory.
At about fifteen years of age God’s amazing grace and I found each other and at about the
same time I started playing guitar, but the thought of playing Christian music was not in the picture, worldly dreams of being another Chris Ledoux or George Strait was my musical focus. My early life as a Christian I think can best be likened to a cattle drive of the old west. I look back and I see myself as being that little rebellious steer and God being the trail boss, because all of my Christian life I have not exactly walked the walk. See, the Lord would let me stray off the trail, let me do what I wanted to do and gently cut me back into the herd, riding that horse called Conviction. He would let me know that it is in His will where I need to stay. Today, I am still human and I get to thinking I am doing all of this on my own and I can almost hear God laugh. Call me a slow learner, but even Paul said that no matter how hard he strives to do good he still does evil.
Music has taken me to some interesting places, but not all were desirable. From honky tonks and bars to cowboy poetry gatherings to state fairs and city festivals and now into churches. To be honest I never really thought I would be playing music that tells the story of our Savior Jesus Christ in churches and outreaches. I remember one night after church I was asked why I didn’t ever play a song in church and my response was “oh, I can’t play those hymns on the guitar.” And that was the truth I could not hear in my mind the guitar playing songs the organ had played, it just did not seam to fit. Then one day I was introduced to the music of Del Way and that opened my eyes to songs that fit who I was and the musical sound I had. Musically, I keep the music basic, simply praising God with a country beat. By doing that I have been welcomed in several denominations apart from what my home church is. Jesus told us to have the faith of a child, and Paul, a man sent forth by Jesus himself, says we are to worship our Lord and Savior. I personally do not see where denominational differences should matter in the topic of singing praises to Jesus Christ.
What do I believe? I believe God sent his only son to die for my sins. I believe His son, Jesus Christ, did just that. He was nailed to that cross because of my sinful life to come. I believe He is the one who fulfilled all of the prophecies and rose a victor to death in three days time. I believe in the eternal security of the believer, that if saved always saved. I don’t believe you can loose your salvation, however I do believe you can loose your walk with the Lord and feel the separation until you repent. I believe that God accepts all who have repented and asked for forgiveness. If He gave eternal life to a thief on the cross, a murder and me, He’ll most certainly give it to you if you’ll simply ask and repent. I believe the Bible is with out error and should be taken as a whole, solo scriptura.
